Monitor GPU and CPU Statistics Using the NVIDIA App

The NVIDIA App includes a built-in performance overlay that lets you monitor important system statistics while gaming or using GPU-intensive applications. With just a few clicks, you can view real-time information such as FPS, GPU utilization, GPU temperature, CPU utilization, and more without installing third-party software.

Enable the NVIDIA Overlay

Before accessing the performance statistics, the NVIDIA Overlay must be enabled.

  1. Open the NVIDIA App.
  2. Click the profile icon and select Settings.
  3. Under the Features tab, turn on NVIDIA Overlay.

Once enabled, press Alt + Z to open the NVIDIA Overlay.



Open the Statistics Panel

From the NVIDIA Overlay:

  1. Click Statistics.
  2. Turn on Show statistics in heads-up display.
  3. Choose the statistics view that best fits your needs.

The overlay can be shown or hidden anytime using the Alt + R keyboard shortcut.

Choose a Statistics View

Basic

Basic mode displays the most important performance metrics, including:

  • Frame Rate (FPS)
  • GPU Utilization
  • CPU Utilization
  • Average PC Latency

This view is ideal for users who want a simple performance overview while gaming.

Advanced

Advanced mode provides additional hardware information, such as:

  • FPS
  • FPS 1% Low
  • GPU Temperature
  • GPU Clock Speed
  • GPU Voltage
  • GPU Utilization
  • CPU Utilization
  • Average PC Latency

This mode is useful for monitoring overall GPU performance and system health.















Custom

Custom mode lets you choose exactly which statistics appear on the overlay.

Available metrics include:

  • Frame Rate (FPS)
  • FPS 1% Low
  • GPU Utilization
  • GPU Temperature
  • GPU Clock
  • GPU Voltage
  • GPU Power
  • GPU Fan Speed
  • VRAM Clock
  • CPU Utilization
  • Render Latency
  • Average PC Latency
  • Additional latency and Reflex metrics on supported hardware

This is the best option for users who only want specific information displayed during gameplay.














Customize the Overlay Position

Select Configure heads-up display to change where the statistics appear on the screen. Positioning the overlay in a corner helps keep the information visible without blocking gameplay.

Performance Logging

The Statistics panel also includes a logging feature that records performance data to a log file. This can be useful for troubleshooting performance issues or comparing system performance over time.
